Interview Your Loved Ones

We often hear people say how they wished they'd asked a family member about their history before that person couldn't answer them. Perhaps it's time to plan an oral history at your house? Get your parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles to share their stories with you today. Here are some suggestions to get the conversation started:
- Can you describe your childhood home or backyard?
- What was your favourite or least favourite childhood meal?
- What clothes were fashionable? Did you have to wear hand-me-downs?
- What are your memories of summer, holidays, birthdays, or Christmas?
- What games did you and your childhood friends play?
- What was your favourite childhood book?
- What are your earliest memories of school?
- Did your family have any home remedies for illness or injuries?
- What was your first car like?
- What was your first job like?
- How did you meet your husband/wife/partner?
- What major historical events do you remember?
