The 1828 Census of New South Wales is about to be inscribed on the UNESCO
Australian Memory of the World Register.
The 1828 Census was the first census taken in Australia and is one of the
most comprehensive taken in the world. This Census is made up of
different sorts of records including large alphabetically arranged
volumes and papers called Householders returns.
The Census will be on display for one day only on 13th May 2019, in the
Local Studies area between 11am and 2pm.
